Mood Congruent Visual Perception
This study examined how mood influences visual perception and memory of words. Participant's mood states were manipulated and then tested on their ability to recall and recognize words presented at the threshold of conscious awareness. The study found mood-congruent biases in word recognition and recall, with negative moods increasing the recall of false negative words, aligning with the emotional memory enhancement and negative dominance theories.
